Microsoft is trying to persuade a growing number of people to put Edge as their automated system. Although the Edge has improved since it was released earlier, it is not prone to errors, and you may experience various problems, for example, failure to download documents.
If this happens to you, there is a compelling reason to return to Chrome or Firefox. We'll tell you the best way to test and edit Edge settings so you can fix the problem quickly.
1. Update Edge
If you think you are using a long-term version of Microsoft Edge, you will see a few problems while reading. To check if you are using the latest Edge sync, click the three dab menu in the top right corner and open Settings. Then, in the meantime, in the left-hand menu, select About Microsoft Edge.
The edge should indicate that the Microsoft Edge is a different message that you think you are using in the latest form. Or it may indicate that an update is available, and you must restart the system to launch it.

Why Does Edge Not Update Automatically?
Usually, Microsoft Edge delivers any relevant reports on its own. However, if you think you are using a metered association, you may need to physically renew the system to keep it running as expected.
To fix this issue and have the Update Edge alone, you must edit its settings. Check to get the edge: //settings/help and open the switch next to Download Updates using metered links.
2. Use InPrivate Mode
One of the program extensions introduced may have a bug or error that prevents Edge from downloading documents. To use Edge without extension, open the application menu and click New InPrivate Window or use Ctrl + Shift + N alternatively.
If you are unable to download the documents in the InPrivate window, disable all extensions and re-enable them individually. With these lines, you can see which one is causing the disturbance.

Make a second line of Settings> Downloads.
Click Change next to a location and set a new output method.

4. Take a closer look at Antimicrobial Settings
If you are unable to download the documents after changing the uninstall method, you should check your antivirus settings. Your antivirus can block web downloads to protect your PC from malware, which is why Edge can't download anything.
